£0 remaining for a bed, mattress and wardrobe
D has been living in shared/supported accommodation for many years, but has recently managed to secure full-time employment in the catering industry (he is a qualified chef). Due to living in supported accommodation, he can only work sixteen hours a week or he will be evicted. D has been able to obtain a one bedroom flat which he will move into on the 26th May. It is partially furnished, but does not have a bed or a wardrobe. Please could we request donations to obtain a bed, mattress and a wardrobe for him?
C is an amazing mum to two children. She is awaiting a Disability Living Allowance decision (a wait of fifteen to twenty weeks) regarding caring for her child. Currently, her child is only able to access school for one hour each day, due to mental health, and mum is not getting any additional support around this. She has now had to stop all her work and volunteering. This is putting a huge strain on the family's finances, as C is not able to access free school meals, and is having to fund additional transport and activities for her daughter.
R has received Acts 435 help previously with his Council Tax and through no fault of his own, he is in arrears again. He receives Universal Credit and works part-time, but his working hours aren't consistent, which has a massive effect on his Council Tax support award. R's bill changes so often that he is never aware how much he owes, and has now received a bill for over £1000. Donations towards lowering the amount he owes would help the advocacy team here set up a more manageable payment plan for him.
K lives with five of her six children in a very overcrowded council house. There has been some serious water damage, due to a workman's negligence, which has left the kitchen cupboards hanging off. K is working to organise the kitchen space, but with no cupboards, this is really challenging. Having some storage solutions, boxes, baskets, drawers and a trolley, would keep items in order, improve the family's ability to keep the kitchen tidy and help K to keep on top of things.
