£0 remaining for a pushchair
S and his wife are asylum seekers who speak very little English. They are living in temporary accommodation on a very small allowance and are barely able to afford essential items. They have recently had a baby and already have a three year old child. We have supported them to provide some essentials for the baby, but they are desperate for a pushchair to be able to go out with their children, as they don't have a car. S and his wife would be very grateful for your support to purchase a pushchair.
A is a mother of four children. They are Asylum seekers living on the outskirts of the city of Wolverhampton. The two youngest children are aged 9 and 5. The primary school they attend is too far for them to reasonably walk and so they need to take the bus. The cost of bus travel for the family is really difficult. They are only entitled to just under £50 each on their ASPEN card per week and this is to pay for basic essentials including food. AJ reached out to the SVP for help with bus passes.
The applicant's wife was medically retired from her job as a nurse in 2016. She and the applicant then started a café business, which went well to begin with. Unfortunately, she was then diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (joint hypermobility and susceptibility to dislocation). This means she is no longer able to work and the applicant has to be her full-time carer. Debt issues resulting from the failure of the business mean the applicant needs to go bankrupt, but the fee for this is £680.
This single mum needs a skip to remove excess goods from her home. A support worker is helping mum and the children - ages 2 and 9. Both the children are currently being assessed for neurodivergence. Mum is unable to afford to pay for the skip herself as she has limited income- she works part time and is on Universal Credit. We have been providing food bank support. With your kind donations, we want to help.
