£0 remaining for decorating costs
My Client recently lost her job as a Prison Officer and has been referred to our charity for family support. When we met, she explained that she was a victim of domestic violence and had to move quickly to a council house with her baby son. This has left her with no money. I have supported her to get a washing machine, but would like to support her to get the house decorated and make it feel like a home for her and her son. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
M is a young man who has arrived in Newcastle (from Cornwall) and is sleeping rough. Things have been very tough, as the weather has been dreadful, but he has managed to secure a few nights in a local hostel. M, who has recently been diagnosed with cancer, needs warm clothing, shoes and nutritious food, as he is losing weight. This donation will help enormously to keep him warm and dry.
L, who has recently moved to her first tenancy with a local housing association, has sofa surfed for twelve months, due to her relationship with her parents breaking down when L found out her mother had taken out debts in her name, which she is having to pay off. More recently, L was a victim of domestic abuse from her dad which has massively effected her mental health. She has managed to hold down her job, has saved some money to buy items for her flat and has obtained some free items from Gumtree. L requires a washing machine to be able help her set up home and become self sufficient, instead of taking clothes to friends to have them washed, which she has done since leaving the family home.
A is an unemployed prison leaver who we are helping to find work. He is very employable and keen to work, but online coverage of his serious offence makes it difficult to secure and keep a job, when people google him. We have agreed that the best way forward is for A to change his name. After changing his name via deed poll, he needs a passport in his new name in order to be able to leave his old name behind and move forward. Due to being unemployed, A is unable to afford this himself. Please could you help?
