£0 remaining for an electric cooker
J, who has fled violence, was in a very damp flat with her two small boys. It was furnished, but one of her sons, who suffers from asthma, was getting really unwell with the damp. J has had to move into an unfurnished place and has saved really well from her basic benefits income, but she just can't manage to buy a cooker. She really wants to cook for the boys and we would love to help her get a cooker and give her some hope back.
E, a recovering heroin addict who has managed to get her son back, has found a Housing Association flat after a period of homelessness. Her only income is Universal Credit and she has no savings. The new flat has no carpets and E is having issues with poor soundproofing and a neighbour harassing her. Carpeting the flat will make a huge difference to E and we have an offer of free carpets! We just need kind Acts donors to help us with the cost of fitting.
L, who is twenty one years old, has just moved into her first property. She claims Universal Credits, has no savings and has been struggling to afford the main essentials for her house. L has been sleeping on the floor, as she has no bed, even though there is no flooring throughout the house. We have been able to provide a new bed and washing machine, and are hoping, with the help of Acts 435, to be able to help carpet her house. Please can you help with the fitting costs?
C is a single dad looking after three children, following the death of his wife. He isn't able to work, due to his caring responsibilities, his income is low and he has no savings. For over two years, his family have been living in a house without carpets. C's home is cold and feels damp. We have an offer of free carpets, but need a little help with the fitting costs. The family would be incredibly grateful for any support given.
