Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
S, a forty six year old single mother, who is a survivor of domestic abuse, has multiple medical problems, physical disabilities and some mental health difficulties. She is the primary carer for her elderly mother. S has been dependent on benefits, but is starting on a path towards returning to work, which starts with an NHS volunteer role. S does not have suitable clothes and shoes for work and a donation would help her to purchase them, hopefully enabling her to return to paid work.
Still £120 left to donate
Total needed £120S, a forty six year old single mother, who is a survivor of domestic abuse, has multiple medical problems, physical disabilities and some mental health difficulties. She is the primary carer for her elderly mother. S is dependent on benefits and has been struggling to keep up with essentials, due to the cost of living. Her sofa is falling apart and she has no comfortable place to sit. A donation will help S to purchase a replacement.
Still £150 left to donate
Total needed £150F is a twenty eight year old single woman who has had her life turned upside down by the financial abuse of her ex-partner, who opened loans and contracts in her name, with no intention of ever repaying her. She never had debts before, but now was almost suicidal trying to cope with the texts, phone calls and letters from bailiffs. Christians Against Poverty is helping F to sort out her finances, but in the meantime we would like to help her with credit for her phone, gas and electricity, and some food stuffs.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200M, who is single and living in social housing, has a job, but her hours vary, meaning that she finds it difficult to manage financially and has some debts which we are helping her with. M, who receives some Universal Credit, has health problems and is applying for disability benefits. Her washing machine has broken and she's having to spend a lot at the launderette. It would really help M to have her own washing machine.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200D, a single parent to a twelve year old boy, has custody of his son since he was a baby, as mum suffers with mental health issues. He works part-time, is on low income and struggles financially. On a recent home visit, it was noted that the place was quite sparse and the sofa in disrepair. A sofa will enable D and his son to relax on movie nights and spend quality father and son time together. It will also add to the environment by making the place homely and welcoming. Thank you very much.
