Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This Iranian refugee who lives in Leeds is an artist who wants to expand her ability to help others by having a tablet. She is asking for £150 to purchase one she has seen which will help her to search online for art activities for groups she is volunteering with in charities. Having and using one will help her to pass on information to groups, and keep in touch with her extended family and friends in Iran, during times of concern. Please can you help her to help others and keep in contact?

Total needed £150Three generations of this family are in the UK due to the war in Ukraine. They have recently applied for benefits and are waiting a decision so currently have limited funds. They are without curtains, bedding and duvets. We have provided the family with warm packs and energy saving measures, however, this will not be sufficient for them to stay warm in the coming months. We have shown them how to heat their home correctly, however, they require these basic items to keep warm.

Total needed £150R and her daughter are Eritrean and have been on the move for seven years, trying to find a place of sanctuary. They are residents in York, settling into school and English classes. They have a flat, but need a TV and a table and chairs; modest provisions which will significantly improve their quality of life. These will also address mental health, language learning and integration, promoting social interaction and providing stability. These items play an essential role in helping to navigate challenges in life.

Total needed £200S, a survivor of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, is a single mum of four children under the age of eight. Her mental health is really poor at the moment, and her fridge freezer has broken down, just as she has migrated from her old benefits to Universal Credit, meaning her income has reduced. S is unable to afford a new fridge freezer and is having to buy food every day for her children, in the absence of one, which is really difficult for her and financially unsustainable.

Total needed £150Our clients are a family of four who are new arrivals in Hull. Dad's mobile phone screen is broken and he does not have any money to pay for the repair. He needs his mobile phone to call his family back home and his children sometimes use it to play games, as they don't have a television. Dad will be happy to receive the financial help because it will make the children happy and improve the parents' mental health, due to being able to communicate with family members and friends.
