Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.

R has been living in shared accommodation for over seven years after splitting from his family. This was problematic, as his ten year old son could never stay with him, due to the risk posed by the other tenants. R has now been given his first home by Birmingham City Council, which means he can have his son to stay with him at weekends. However, he does not have a cooker. R would like to apply for donations from Acts 435 to buy a cooker so that he can cook meals for himself and his son, when he stays.

Total needed £200H has just received temporary accommodation from Birmingham City Council, after spending years in various hostels. She has an eight year old child and is in the process of applying for leave to remain under the immigration service. This is being supported by the local Children's Authority. H has been given a flat which is partially furnished, but does not have a washing machine. We would be really grateful if Acts 435 could fund a washing machine for her.

S has managed to find work for herself, as a carer, and will take the steps needed to continue her career as a nurse in the UK. She has found an unfurnished flat, and is thankful for the amazing support given her by the community. S would be grateful for help to buy a fridge freezer, as she makes a new home for her family.

Total needed £150Our client left her family home, due to her husband’s controlling behaviour, which was increasingly becoming worse and was leading towards her having dark thoughts. The only person she knew in the end was her husband and she wanted to take her own life. Our client left her home and now have a flat she is moving into next week with her fifteen year old son. Mum would love to be able to buy some bedding, duvets and kitchen items, such as a microwave and kettle as she only left with a suitcase of clothes.

Total needed £170We are working with the parents of two young children who are trying to establish some good boundaries and routines. One of these is to have meals around a dining table, but they don't have a table to sit at. We would love to provide a dining table and chairs for this family and allow them to encourage and enjoy appropriate meal times together. They are struggling financially and aren't able to buy this for themselves.
