£0 remaining for a cooker
This client and her child have recently relocated with help from the Homeless Prevention team. Mum is currently on a low income, as she is in receipt of Universal Credit and Carers Allowance, due to caring for her adult disabled daughter who is also vulnerable. They are both in desperate need of a cooker as they currently without one and unable to purchase one. This would make a huge, positive impact on their livelihood, being able to cook regular hot meals at home.
Safe Families are supporting a family of four who are in need of a new tumble dryer. Due to their twelve year old son's complex needs, the parents are having to prioritise replacing items in the home that he has unfortunately damaged. This means they cannot afford to replace the broken tumble dryer. As the weather is getting colder, it is not always possible to line dry the washing, so currently their neighbours are helping to dry clothes in their dryers, but this is not a sustainable option.
