£0 remaining for a mobile phone
This young couple, who came into Foodbank, were evicted illegally after missing just one rent payment. The young lady had a heart issue which also meant she was in hospital. They were made homeless and are now in a hostel. They are really trying to get jobs and nearly got one recently. The lady has now broken her phone, which she needs to get a fuel voucher, and they don't get paid for a while yet. She needs a phone to receive the fuel vouchers via text, apply for jobs and to get back on her feet.
This lady, who is unable to work due to mental health issues, lives alone and spends most of her time indoors. Her under-counter freezer is broken and she finds it difficult to manage without a freezer as she only goes to the shop when absolutely necessary. Please can you help?
K, who is in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, has turned her life around. She fled an abusive relationship (the cause of her alcohol problems), leaving her children. K is now trying to gain access to them, but Social Services will not allow it, as her house is not carpeted and they say it is a risk to the children's health. We would really like to bring this family back together. We have an offer of free carpets and are hoping that our kind Acts 435 donors will make that happen by supporting K with the fitting cost.
N, who was a victim of racism and a disability hate crime against her daughter, had to be moved, due to anti-social behaviour by her neighbours, who were also the perpetrators. She has moved into a new tenancy with no fixtures or fittings and is having to self fund this. N is working part-time and in receipt of Universal Credit. We are able to provide carpets for this lady, but need help with cost of fitting them. If you could support with this, it would be amazing.
