Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

TK is a sixty two year old homeless Ethiopian who lost his job in Oxford. He has moved to London where he sleeps in the houses of friends, when he can, and visits the weekly food bank. The Job Centre has found TK a part-time job, while he awaits his welfare payment and housing entitlement. He needs a contribution towards rent, buying clothes for the job, and food on his journey to a fresh start. Please can you help TK to achieve a change in his life and realise that journey? Thank you.

Total needed £200This single mother came to the St Vincent de Paul centre with her triplets, struggling with significant hurdles in caring for herself and her little ones. Our objective is to meet her pressing needs now and offer continuous assistance with essential items. We urgently seek a food parcel for this family for four weeks, including necessities like diapers, milk and clothing, as we coordinate with other organisations to establish a more lasting solution for the mother. Any aid in this endeavour would be deeply valued.

Total needed £200C has engaged really well with our employability services and we had also assisted him into accommodation. Things have unravelled, sadly, in recent months and, as a result, C has lost his housing and been placed by the council in hotel accommodation. He lost all his ID when he was evicted and urgently needs a birth certificate as part of his various housing applications. We would also like to buy C some food, as he is not eating well, and he needs some smarter clothes to attend an interview we have lined up.

Total needed £90B, who is the only breadwinner in the home, is on a zero hours contract, and his partner is unable to work since having a breakdown; she can barely leave the home. They have a little girl who is two. B broke down in tears as he told us how he is struggling to buy provisions as there is no money left after all the bills have been paid. His daughter is in need of clothes, as she has outgrown everything. The bedding they have needs replacing, and they are in desperate need of a kettle and microwave. Thank you for your support.

Total needed £200R, who is homeless and has no recourse to public funds, was living with his mother until she died in 2019. His precarious living situation has led to depression, anxiety and severe back problems. He has just come out of hospital and has appointments with doctors and Social Workers coming up. R says he doesn’t want to look like a tramp and would be very grateful for help to get a pair of waterproof shoes, some socks and a change of clothing so that he can go to these appointments feeling respectable.
