Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

N was working and able to pay everything until he became very ill with breathing problems and had to stop his manual labouring job. He has been trying to find a job for the last year and has now been offered a job as a taxi driver, taking people to the airport, but needs to get his licence and complete a taxi driving course. It is £200 for both of these, and he isn't on Universal Credit so can't get any help from them. N only has his state pension income. Please can we help him?

Total needed £200P has been struggling to find work as a machinery worker since being made redundant several months ago. His fridge freezer recently broke down and he can't afford to get a new one, so he can't keep food fresh and, therefore, isn't eating well. P would be incredibly grateful if you could help him buy a replacement.

Total needed £160This applicant, who split with his partner during Covid, ended up homeless and was put in a hostel, but has now been given a very small flat. He is currently searching for a job and using food banks. This applicant only has a bed, a freezer and a chair, but needs an undercounter fridge to help him with having fresh foods. He would also be very grateful for a wardrobe or chest of drawers. We will be sourcing these items second-hand and any remaining funds will be used for other essential items for him.

Total needed £200My client, TB, has been struggling with his mental health for the last twelve months and lost his job as a result of this. This has further impacted his mental health and has had an impact on his finances as he awaits benefits. TB has had to take his car of the road as he could no longer afford to run the car and pay his household bills. He is now in receipt of a new job offer, but is unable to get there without a car, as the job starts at 5am. We are asking for help with an MOT, tax and insurance.

Total needed £200G, a skilled professional and single mother, aims to build a better future in the UK healthcare sector. Relying on Universal Credit, she cannot afford the IELTS course needed to validate her English proficiency and resume her career. By contributing to her course fees, you are helping a dedicated individual re-enter healthcare, and supporting a single mother striving for a stable, fulfilling life for her family. Your support can make a lasting difference for both G and her child.
