Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

A, a single man who is living in shared accommodation, has a number of health conditions, including myelofibrosis; gout; anxiety and depression. He works ten hours a week, but his health means he is unable to work more hours. A receives Universal Credit and Housing Benefit, but his income does not cover his outgoings and he is reliant upon community larders. A's bed is very old and is not supportive of his health conditions, but he is unable to afford a new one.

Total needed £100Can you help this family? F and T relocated with their young children in hope of accessing better healthcare for dad's cancer treatment. However, this move has led to significant financial strain, as the necessary building work on their home has become quite daunting. Currently, they lack direct access to hot water. We would love to help provide them with a new electric shower which would greatly enhance their daily lives and lower their energy expenses in the future.

Total needed £200This supported person sadly lost their daughter to suicide in their home. Due to the trauma caused by this, they had to move house and find new accommodation very quickly. Unfortunately, this person is quite physically unwell and is unable to work, meaning funds are extremely tight. The oven in the new home has broken and they are unable to purchase a new one. Hot, cooked food will contribute to better physical and mental health, which is something they are really struggling with.

Total needed £150L is a single woman who receives Personal Independence Payment due to her mental health issues including autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and bi-polar. Her electricity meter readings were inaccurately read by the fuel company for six months, which has led to a debt accruing. There is still £350 outstanding, but L can meet the remainder amount of £150 arrears. This money will, therefore, allow her to clear her fuel debt before the winter.

Total needed £200Our client has been living in a house of multiple occupancy for six years. He is unable to work, due to an elbow repair and knee surgery. A planned hernia repair was deferred, due to heart condition. This client socialises little and his main external contact is with his twelve year old son, who lives with ex-wife and visits dad each school holiday. Anything left in the shared kitchen disappears. Dad is currently being helped by a financial advisor at Foodbank. A fridge freezer to replace his small fridge would give him more food space, perhaps encouraging him to mix more, and help his mental health.
