Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Despite his best efforts, he has encountered challenges with his ID card and incurred expenses from legal fees to rectify mistakes on his identification document. H urgently requires your generosity to secure accommodation which will enable him to focus on improving his English skills and embark on a new chapter in his life. Your support with a housing deposit will empower him to pursue opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Total needed £200H has just received temporary accommodation from Birmingham City Council, after spending years in various hostels. She has an eight year old child and is in the process of applying for leave to remain under the immigration service. This is being supported by the local Children's Authority. H has been given a flat which is partially furnished, but does not have a washing machine. We would be really grateful if Acts 435 could fund a washing machine for her.

Total needed £200This vulnerable young man has just been put out of the family home and has nowhere to go. He is engaging well with our employment charity and has a realistic chance of finding work and being able to pay for future rent, but not if he is street homeless. This support will cover two nights emergency accommodation in a regular hotel (including a substantial hot buffet breakfast), whilst other options are looked at with support.

Total needed £105This lady, who has a history of depression and anxiety, fled her partner, due to domestic violence, and relocated with a friend in Buxton. Her friend got ill and the lady became her carer. However, the relationship has just broken down and our client has had to leave the home. The housing association doesn't have a duty to house her, as she doesn't have any significant health issues. This lady, who is coming to us every day for food, is sleeping in her car and, as she only gets a small amount of Universal credit, she cannot pay for her car insurance for this month.

Total needed £80Our client, who is a carer for his ex-partner, is in debt and on a low income, and was evicted by his landlord who threw away all his belongings. He has lost his personal belongings and work equipment and has currently been placed in new accommodation by the council. Our client will need a washing machine as his accommodation does not have one. He has long-term disability and currently relies solely on benefits. Please can you help him with the cost of a washing machine?

Total needed £200A and D have urgently reached out and are seeking assistance to cover the costs of replacing their fridge freezer, a critical household appliance. They are reliant on Universal Credit and are responsible for four children, two of whom have learning disabilities. Recently, they faced eviction and were compelled to relocate, incurring unexpected expenses associated with the move, and a rise in rent price. This family is in dire need of support, and any assistance extended would be immensely valued and appreciated.

Total needed £200This lady is currently working with Social Services to, hopefully, take her grandchildren into her care, as her daughter is in a bad way. Social Workers are supportive of this, but a house inspection is due, and this lady is concerned that she has inadequate floor coverings in her kitchen, if there are to be young children in the house. She only receive Carers Allowance, as she cares for her autistic son, so money is tight, but this lady has been saving all she can to prepare for the children's arrival.

Total needed £200V was homeless and, after a time in supported accommodation, recently gained his own council tenancy. In order to keep busy and help his mental health, he has given his time each week to help a local charity complete maintenance work for at least ten hours a week. V uses his van to allow him to do this, and also to give him freedom to get out of the house and connect with the local community. In order to continue giving something back to society, V needs £200 towards a larger bill for his van repair.

Total needed £200Mum is a care leaver who has recently had to move home, due to severe damp in the old property, and is having start over again with furnishing their new property. Mum is finding it very difficult financially and is looking for support to fund a toddler bed for their child, whose current bed has been affected by mould. We would love to help to make this toddler's room more of a bedroom and safe space.
