Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This man, who is a resident with us in supported accommodation, is working with the Family Drug and Alcohol Court, with the hope of becoming sole carer for his children. As this does not allow him to commit to work at present, he finds that exercise helps with his mental health. This man would appreciate some help with gym membership costs of £100 over the next four months. He is also in need of some photo ID, so would appreciate help with the cost of applying for a passport online, which would be £88.50. Thank you.

Total needed £190A is forty seven years old and has three children under the age of sixteen. He is a single dad and works as a self-employed taxi driver so he can work around the children. Dad has recently had a bad fall and has been unable to work, due to pain in his back. He has not been receiving any money, has quickly used what little savings he had and is really struggling now. We have put A in touch with the foodbank at our church and he is so grateful for this. Please could you help top-up their gas and electric and provide some food?

Total needed £200A is a single dad to three children aged ten, twelve and fourteen. He has always worked until a nasty fall has made it currently impossible to work. Dad is self-employed and is quickly running out of his savings. He will have no way of affording the children's school uniforms and shoes, and there are no items that can be handed down. The eldest two also need new blazers. Dad is at his wits end as to what to do. Please could you take some pressure off A, who is doing a great job?

Total needed £200CF is currently in temporary accommodation with her partner. They have a history of homelessness and substance misuse, however, they have recently found faith and are making changes in their life. CF has been in the process of applying for ID, as she wants to find some permanent accommodation. She has a birth certificate, but would now like to use this to apply for a passport. CF receives the lowest level of Universal Credit, so she does not have funds for this. This ID will help her to move forward.

Total needed £90Our client is thirty two years of age and lives with his partner and baby girl. He has been offered a permanent position at work, although it is only twenty hours a week. He is over the moon and is hopeful his hours will increase in the future. His fridge freezer has broken beyond repair and the family has no spare money to replace it. Our client is really worried about storing the baby's milk and food, and it is costing a lot more with buying chilled food on a daily basis. Please could you help this lovely family? Thank you.

Total needed £200A is forty seven years of age and lives with her husband and three step-children. They have lived in a privately rented house for five years and have been served a Section 21 no fault eviction notice, having to leave the property in two weeks. A is unable to work, as she is going through cancer treatment, so the financial burden falls on her husband's shoulders and he is struggling as he is on minimum wage. They need to put furniture and personal belongings into storage for safe keeping. Thank you for your support.
