Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This lady, who has a history of depression and anxiety, fled her partner, due to domestic violence, and relocated with a friend in Buxton. Her friend got ill and the lady became her carer. However, the relationship has just broken down and our client has had to leave the home. The housing association doesn't have a duty to house her, as she doesn't have any significant health issues. This lady, who is coming to us every day for food, is sleeping in her car and, as she only gets a small amount of Universal credit, she cannot pay for her car insurance for this month.
Still £55 left to donate
Total needed £80S, a Christian asylum seeker who has just moved into a flat, only receives £45 a week to live on. He is able to work and is looking for work. In the meantime, he is looking for voluntary work, but needs to repair his bike to help him get around. S is also in needs of clothes and shoes, and some kitchen equipment.
Still £200 left to donate
Total needed £200This lady has recently moved into a new house with her four children after suffering domestic abuse. Her ex-partner has left her with a lot of debt and she is constantly living in an overdraft which incurs over £150 in fees and overdraft interest. This lady has to drive her children to three different schools and is not eligible for help with transport, so she is spending an average of £20 a day on fuel. She is due to receive debt advice from Christians Against Poverty, but needs help in the meantime. Thank you.
Still £125 left to donate
Total needed £150I have been asked by a Housing Officer to help this vulnerable lady, who usually has support, to manage her bills with energy vouchers. Sadly, the funding has run out and she is in need of a new vacuum cleaner as hers is broken. This lady is required to keep her flat clean, but has no spare money from her benefits to buy one. I will buy an Argos voucher for her with the Acts 435 donations so that it goes towards a cleaner. Please would you help her? Thank you.
Still £95 left to donate
Total needed £100Our client suffers from heart disease and has had several cardiovascular surgeries over recent years. He is prone to infection and has spent the past five months in a care home, due to a bacterial infection that impacted both his mental and physical health. This resulted in his long term partner, of over twenty years, refusing to have him at home, thereby, leaving him homeless. Our client has now been awarded a council bungalow, but is in receipt of a pension income and cannot afford to equip his new home with a fridge freezer.
Still £135 left to donate
