Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Our client has been without a gas oven for over a year, due to a gas leak. The family of four are living on a low income, due to them having caring responsibilities. This leaves their budget fully stretched and has meant that they have been unable to purchase a replacement. They have been solely using their microwave to cook any hot food, leaving them unable to batch cook meals, which will help to reduce their weekly grocery spend.

Total needed £60This lady, who has a history of depression and anxiety, fled her partner, due to domestic violence, and relocated with a friend in Buxton. Her friend got ill and the lady became her carer. However, the relationship has just broken down and our client has had to leave the home. The housing association doesn't have a duty to house her, as she doesn't have any significant health issues. This lady, who is coming to us every day for food, is sleeping in her car and, as she only gets a small amount of Universal credit, she cannot pay for her car insurance for this month.
Still £80 left to donate
Total needed £80Our client was the victim of domestic and economic abuse. Her former partner broke and damaged many of the items in her flat, including removing the internal doors. Currently, this lady cannot work, due to ill-health, and, as she is on a low income, is unable to replace the doors. Please could you donate towards replacements?

Total needed £200N, who has come to Crosslight Advice for help with her debts, has been in a hostel for six years and has finally been permanently housed. However, the flat is bare, and she has very few belongings. Her physical and mental health has deteriorated to the point where she has been unable to work for the last six months. We hope that the local council will help N with the absolute essentials, but she does not have a fridge freezer. Are you able to help?

Total needed £200H, a man who is grieving the loss of his wife, is currently seeking a job, but built up multiple debts while he was unable to work. His only income is Universal Credit, from which deductions are taken to pay back some of his debts, leaving him with very little for gas and food. H would be very grateful for any help towards gas and food over the coming weeks as he looks for work. Thank you.
Still £140 left to donate
Total needed £140This lady has recently moved into a new house with her four children after suffering domestic abuse. Her ex-partner has left her with a lot of debt and she is constantly living in an overdraft which incurs over £150 in fees and overdraft interest. This lady has to drive her children to three different schools and is not eligible for help with transport, so she is spending an average of £20 a day on fuel. She is due to receive debt advice from Christians Against Poverty, but needs help in the meantime. Thank you.
Still £150 left to donate
Total needed £150We are supporting a survivor of domestic abuse who is also a single mum of three children, one of whom has complex needs. Mum was made homeless when pregnant with her youngest, and has been moved around unsafe or unsuitable housing for twelve years. She was unable to access support needed, as language became a barrier in understanding her right to benefits, with the trail of bills that followed her from each property. Mum has been left with Council Tax arrears that she is expected to pay by the end of the month.

Total needed £200E, a single mum of three children, works full-time and receives some Universal Credit to top-up her wages. Mum needs a car to do her job, as she works in the community supporting vulnerable disabled people with their care needs. Her car has failed its MOT and will cost £395 to repair. E has no savings, but another charity is offering to help with some of the repair costs. If mum doesn't keep her car on the road, she will lose her job, which will be devastating for her family. Any help would be amazing!
