Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.

Total needed £200W has recently become homeless and has been robbed of all his possessions while asleep on the streets. He has been trying to access help, but his situation has declined and he is now struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. We are supporting W into residential rehabilitation but, while we do, we need to pay for a hotel for five days. We have found a good deal which will help stabilise his situation while we arrange his move to rehab with the drug team and Social Services.

He is motivated to get back into work, but needs his right to work to be able to start applying. Please will you help us to get P his birth certificate and enable him to get back on track?

Total needed £200Mum is an asylum seeking lady here with her four girls, aged thirteen, twelve, seven and five years old. The family attends our Family Hub. Mum struggles to pay utility bills and sometimes to secure food. She has approached us to request four single quilts and pillows for the girls beds, as they do not have adequate bedding now that the weather is getting colder. Total needed £150Our client is a single father to a six year old child. Following an intrusion into his house, he is in need of a replacement cooker and washing machine. He has been found to have limited capability to work, and is currently in receipt of Universal Credit, so is struggling with limited funds. Our client is suffering with mental health issues and, without a cooker to heat food and a washing machine to clean their clothes independently, this is further impacting his health and well-being.

Total needed £200This mum and her family have just been rehoused, due to domestic violence from her ex-partner. He is now in prison for threatening behaviour towards the daughter and the drug culture where they lived. While they can take most of their furniture with them, the new house has no carpet or floor covering, so the money is for carpets in the downstairs areas.

Total needed £175Recently released from prison, C has come to us for help getting into work. He has experience working in kitchens so we have secured him a job at a local restaurant, but he has no right to work ID or phone. C needs a replacement birth certificate and a replacement deed poll as his mum changed his name when he was a baby. We also need to buy him a basic smartphone so that he can use the restaurant's app for shifts. C is motivated to turn things around and this job will be a hugely positive step.
Still £95 left to donate
Total needed £95This lady, who has custody of her two grandchildren, is on basic Universal Credit. For a year, they lived in a one bedroomed bungalow, but now have been moved into a house with a bedroom for each child. The cost of moving has left mum with very little money to provide the extra furniture needed. A bed for each child would be a massive help to this family.
