Give to someone in need
Acts 435 is about giving to people directly, to help them bridge the gap when they are facing a financial crisis.
Can you help a specific person in need?
Read stories of the applicants below and give as you feel able. Any amount will make a big difference to someone who is struggling.
You can instead make a general donation and the Acts 435 team will allocate it to the most urgent requests.
This lady and her 1 year old child were relocated to Southend due to domestic violence and are in temporary accommodation without cooking facilities. Relying solely on Universal Credit, she cannot afford takeaway meals. We would like to provide balanced, nutritious meals for the next 6 weeks to ease her burden and ensure she and her daughter have proper meals for lunch and dinner, offering much needed support during this challenging time.

Total needed £200This woman, who has spinal issues and other health challenges, was referred to us after enduring severe abuse and threats from neighbours, prompting police intervention and a move. She has two children and we have helped by providing a washing machine. However, the family urgently needs a sofa, wardrobe and chest of drawers as they currently have no seating or storage. This lack of basics is causing clutter and stress. Your assistance would greatly improve their quality of life.

Total needed £125This lady has acute osteoporosis, but is currently sleeping on the floor as she has no bed. Her 15 year old son is currently sleeping on a child's bed which is too small for him to stretch out properly. The lady is a Christians Against Poverty client and struggling with debt and so has no funds to buy the two beds needed. Getting beds will enable better sleep to allow this lady and her son to deal with the other challenges in their lives right now.

Total needed £200L is a 58 year old lady who lives on her own. She has a number of health problems, but her mental health is so poor that it restricts her life and she is very isolated. She has recently been diagnosed with diabetes and has a lot of back problems, so sitting in a very cold flat is not helpful to her wellbeing. With a low income she is terrified of putting the heating on. We are looking at what other grants are available to her but are concerned that she is going through the winter with no heat.
