£170 needed for a cooker
This young man, who is starting out alone, due to his father’s dementia and having to leave the family home, suffers with various mental health issues. He gets Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment, and has limited work capability. This young man has got an unfurnished flat and desperately needs a cooker. Any help you could give him would be gratefully received. Thank you.
£100 needed for a mobile phone
Our client, a young Iraqi asylum seeker in Home Office accommodation, has multiple needs including access to a solicitor for his asylum case, obtaining an ID card and enrolling for English lessons. His phone was stolen from a changing room so information and contacts provided by our charity are lost and we are trying to assist him. For people in our client's situation, a phone and internet access are crucial for Home Office and legal and welfare correspondence, so a priority to get him back on track.
£150 needed for a freezer
This couple, who are both working as carers on minimum wages, have four children so have to plan shifts to cover both work and childcare. This means that there are times when one of them can't take work so they struggle financially. Their freezer had broken down and they have lost all the food in it. This was a second-hand freezer and it is now beyond repair. They like to batch cook and freeze, as this saves money and time, so would really benefit from help to get a replacement freezer.
£150 needed for an energy bill
Our beneficiary is a young man who previously worked, but has in recent years experienced difficulties in his mental wellbeing. He is agoraphobic, suffers panic attacks, has irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), anxiety and depression. He has incurred debt, that he is attempting to pay off with what income he has from Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. We aim to help our beneficiary in paying off his current energy costs to enable him to escape his cycle of debt. Please can you help?
£200 needed for carpet fitting
J has come from supported living where he resided for eleven months. Previous to this, he lived in his car as he was suffering serious mental health issues. J is now trying to get his life back on track and has a new property but it has no flooring down. His only income is Universal Credit and he has no savings. Flooring in the property would greatly improve his mental health; currently his home his cold, damp and miserable. Carpets have kindly been supplied, but any help with fitting costs would be a huge help to J.

£200 needed for carpet fitting
C is a single mum of three children who is living in a cold, damp house with no carpets. Mum and the children rarely use downstairs as it’s too cold with stone floors. C isn’t working, has no savings and only receives Universal Credit. We would love to make her house into a home and can carpet it for free, but just need a little help with the cost of fitting. Any help would be an absolute Godsend.
£200 needed for two wardrobes
IC, a single mum to one child, has fled domestic violence and is living in one of our safe houses for women and children who have experienced domestic abuse and sexual violence. She is experiencing financial difficulties, due to the cost of living crisis, and struggling to manage her bills and shopping. IC requires financial assistance to purchase two wardrobes for herself and her son, but is unable to afford them. Please can you help?
£200 needed for driving lessons
Facing job loss and housing insecurity, S maintains a positive outlook and is striving for a better future. His aspirations are hindered by financial constraints, particularly in affording driving lessons which are essential for a career transition. The rising cost of living exacerbates his struggle, intensifying the challenge of securing a stable livelihood. Assistance with the remaining driving lessons could alleviate this burden, enabling S to break free from the cycle of homelessness.
